Protection of Serbian Natural Resources: Security Risks and Management Elements of Protection
Given that environmental protection is today one of the most relevant problems of every society and even every local community and given the significance of the protection of nature (as one of its segments), it is realistic to assume that the results of this project will enhance the management of protected natural resources in Serbia.
The research is conducted by: The Faculty of Security Studies (the main researcher), The Faculty of Forestry, The Faculty of Biology, The Institute for Criminological and Sociological Research and the Institute for the Protection of Nature in Serbia (participant).
The research encompasses the analysis of security risks and current modes of operation of natural resources protection management in Serbia. Especially important is the development of proper procedures for the recognition of risk factors and the creation of conditions for a more modern and more efficient protected natural resources management. The research should provide a more efficient use of management instruments of protection in order to prevent and reduce threat factors and to apply measures to enhance the protection and preservation of Serbia’s natural resources. All of this is beneficial to the society i.e. the results may be applied within the environmental protection organization system and in local communities and be applied to future protected resources as well.
