The curriculum of the basic undergraduate studies for the degree of Undergraduate Security Manager has been prompted by the changes in the local and global security environment, the reforms in the educational system of Serbia regarding the implementation of the Bologna process, comparative international experience, and continued demands from the domestic market.

Up to now, there have been no schools for the education of managers who would be able to participate in the planning, organization, implementation, and control of enterprises which provide security services to other persons or establish and monitor security systems of private enterprises, public enterprises, banks, organizations involved in social activities, cultural institutions, etc. In EU countries and the US, Security Manager is one of the most competitive professions and today this expert profile is one of the most wanted in the labor market.

The three-year basic undergraduate studies should provide a firm basis for a specific, humanities-oriented, streamlined education which allows students to build on their specialist knowledge and skills, and later a basis for a permanent education and specialization in the field of security; they ought also to provide necessary knowledge on social conflicts, deviations, crime, international problems, security systems organization, sources, forms and causes of threats and ways of protection; furthermore, they should provide a balance between theoretical and practical knowledge, rooted in science, but oriented towards practice - a balance between acquired theoretical knowledge and developed practical abilities and skills.

Basic undergraduate studies focus on those courses which contribute to the professional skills needed for working in the fields relevant to this profile; they are organized in the form of modules, which corresponds to the intentions of the Bologna Declaration and other international documents, so that students can choose from an array of courses and tailor their studies to their preferences and professional orientation.

Basic undergraduate studies last 3 years (6 semesters - 180 ECTS credits).
